Printer problem - Items sent to print are not printing.

I'm having problems with my printer.  If I send a document over to be printed it doesn't print?  There's no jam, the cartridges are full and there's  paper.  Help!

Hi Bob,

Getting a test page out is good start, but there a few thing s you can try to get your printer fully working...

Microsoft provides a Fix It tool which will troubleshoot the printer for you, and might give some useful information on what might be causing an issue:

If you are getting prints out it sounds as though there isn't much wrong with the spools service, but keep an eye on it as sometimes a print job can throw the service out. You'll find it in Services.

Also, make sure you have the latest driver for the printer from the manufacturers website. You view what drivers you have already from Print Management, which you can find in Administrative Tools from the Control Panel.

    USB connected -- it is Photosmart 4400 -- and I put in the XL printer cartridges and it works ok then comes up with an error =incompatable print cartridge

    I went to the internet for an update to the driver a couple of days ago and it just quit again now.

    Is there a fix  it is still a good printer

    My printer will print out margins on left and right but no text or body of letter.  This applies to my 2 accounts:  ******@videotron.ca and ******@gmail.com  -first one is E-mail account and Second is Google G-mail account.

    Will not print on either e-mail account but no trouble on the internet .  On the Videotron account I don't even have an icon for printing.

    Please help.

    My problem is a little different.  I have downloaded the latest printer driver (Lexmark X3430) from the Lexmark website ( actually a couple of times).  Since installing Windows 7 it won't print until I turn off the computer and bring it back up - then it will print what is in the printer's memory.  If it is a large file, it only prints part of it.  It is frustrating.
