How do I restore the default color and settings on the display?  I've tried to find a "default" option within in the color calibration process, but don't see an option.

Hi LSSolomon,

  1. Have you recently done any changes to the computer?
  2. Have you done any changes to the theme settings on the desktop?

If you have calibration enabled for display then you may disable calibration loading by Windows. You must be logged on with a user account that has administrative privileges to make the below changes -

  1. Open Color Management by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type color management, and then click Color Management.
  2. Click the Advanced tab, and click Change system defaults.
  3. Click the Advanced tab in the Color Management - System Defaults dialog box, and do one of the following:
  • To prevent Windows from loading display calibrations, clear the Use Windows display calibration check box.
  1. Click Close in the Color Management - System Defaults dialog box.
  2. Click Close in the Color Management dialog box.

You may also refer to the below links for further assistance on the issue -

    thnkz :)

None of this helped. I even did a system restore, my colors are still too blue/green. It's not the monitor, I swapped out monitors.  Every time I try a manual calibration it doesn't "take" and returns back. Tried changing to the windows theme, etc.  How can I get back to the original settings? Is the file clobbered, and if so, how to restore?

I just bought this computer and messed with the colors.  Now all my boxes are solid colors and I can not see what the tabs are.  I did what this says and it is still not back to default colors.

    Help me please

    Is your theme messed up?

If you mess with the colors and want the defaults you may just need to right-click -> Personalize

This will open a window to your Theme settings. Under Aero Themes you should see one named Windows 7.

    That is the default theme.
