Original Title: I have Microsoft Windows 7 though the windows installer is not working correctly. How can I install the windows installer 5.0 or ensure it is working?

  1. What is the issue with Windows Installer?
  2. Do you have any issues installing any program?
  3. Do you get any error message related to Windows Installer?

We cannot install Windows Installer 5.0 as it is the default version in Windows 7. If you can provide us more details about the issue, then we can assist you better.

If Windows Installer is malfunctioning, then try to Unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

a. Click Start, type cmd, right click cmd and click run as administrator.

b. On the command prompt, type "msiexec /unreg" and then press ENTER.

c. On the command prompt, type "msiexec /regserver" and then press ENTER.

d. Check the difference.

    The new MSI <removed> thingy is preinstalled with Windows 8.

    <removed>!!! Now how do I install HTC Sync with my phone?!!!

    You aren't the only one. Can someone tell me MS uploaded MSI 5 onto download?

    Did you ever get or find the windows installer 5.0?  I have a very similar issue.. tried a lot of things so far.. I have the w7 cd but not cab files like in the older versions and I don't know where it is exacted from..

    It didn't work for me.  I can't install Itunes but everything else works

    To all of you having this problem, SORRY!  I just went through this for the past 2 months, and used their special services, and tried EVERYTHING they suggested!!  All I got out of it was a bill and some bad advice.  Microsoft does not have a clue!  Save your selves some time and aggravation and format and reinstall.  That is ALL that has worked so far.

    I REALLY wish MS would get their _ _ _ _ together!  <removed>!
