Original Title: I have Microsoft Windows 7 though the windows installer is not working correctly. How can I install the windows installer 5.0 or ensure it is working?

  1. What is the issue with Windows Installer?
  2. Do you have any issues installing any program?
  3. Do you get any error message related to Windows Installer?

We cannot install Windows Installer 5.0 as it is the default version in Windows 7. If you can provide us more details about the issue, then we can assist you better.

If Windows Installer is malfunctioning, then try to Unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

a. Click Start, type cmd, right click cmd and click run as administrator.

b. On the command prompt, type "msiexec /unreg" and then press ENTER.

c. On the command prompt, type "msiexec /regserver" and then press ENTER.

d. Check the difference.

    Thanks for the offer but I read the comment under it and there seems to be a lot of issues with it and I am already having enough problems with my computer due to the fact I can't update key software thanks to the lack of the installer that I don't want to take my chances.

    I've been dealing with it for over 6 mths. I feel your pain. This is ****. I've tried everything their tech guys have asked me to do, you would think they would at least give their tech guys a patch or something. They want me to pay them to try and trouble shoot but it might not even work. I'm giving up.

    Please, Microsoft. Get us a fix for this problem! I have been plagued with it now for about a week, and have tried EVERYTHING! Nothing helps. All your helpful posts are worthless. If anyone tells me to unregister and re register it again, I think I will loose it! That is <removed>. IF NO-ONE CAN, OR IS WILLING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, LETS ALL SCRAP WINDOWS AND GO UMBUTU OR SOME SUCH! i AM SICK OF THIS <removed>. i'M FED UP!! Does anyone get the impression I'm upset? No. I AM ANGRY! It has gone on long enough!
