Is there anyway to purchase a replacement Microsoft 2.4 Ghz Transceiver that works with a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v2 AND a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 6000 v3?

Thanks, I still might give it a try if I can find a newer transceiver to go with this newer (useless) keyboard I bought. Why some guy on eBay had several wireless keyboards without transceivers, I have no idea, but I went for one.

That would be me :-) Still stand by what I wrote. I'm UK based so I don't know if that makes any difference but have still had luck with buying spares off eBay. When we buy new we usually buy the desktop sets i.e. Keyboard & Mouse packaged together rather than separate mice & keyboards. Put both devices into sync mode and they begin talking to each other. Have only had it fail where the two devices are significantly different models.
Thanks for your information. My set is/was eight years old. Keyboard died from a spill two years ago. I replaced with a wired version but kept using the mouse. Recently I bought another wireless board on eBay without transceiver. Big Mistake. At least the mouse still works, even though it's not rated for Windows 8.
I tried to buy the transceiver Tykog posted about, but it was sold out or something. The sale didn't go through. Probably just as well, given all the warnings here, but on the other hand, there's a post from someone in a large office with lots of these sets who says the parts are interchangeable.
