Yes, it's totally disgusting that they changed the favorite folder icons from yellow to the ugly black and white thingy. The yellow folders are (or now were?) actually one of the main reasons I'm using Edge. Incompetent wannabe UX "designers" strike again.
Fun fact: No one, not a single user ever asked for this disgusting change.
When EDGE or Windows gets an update or you are a new user on a new PC, you have to go thru 5 or 6 pages of OPTIONS before you can even use the browser.
Now M$ pushes out unwanted updates that will befuddle you, just like Terms TOS service agreements and security updates, so you scroll through the 78 pages of legalese just to resume what you need to use M$ products for in the first place.
You would have to consult an attorney to decipher the legalese to see if there is anything in there that will take away your rights or ability to bring lawsuits against Microsoft.
All this while you have to pay an annual subscription fee to continue using the product that they (not you as the customer has any say in.
Microsoft OWNs you!
same as GOOGLE.
You will do it OUR way or hit the highway.
I am opting for the latter.
I have been considering changing from Windows to a Linux distro for years, well it is time to get off the pot and just do it!
I am trying out the different Linux distros to see what one will satisfy my needs the most.
I was a VMware VMUG Advantage member for about the past 10 years, always maintained a 4 node ESXI cluster in vCenter 8.x in my home lab with 2 Synology 8 disk NAS devices. I also made my living designing installing and maintaining VMware instances for multiple MSP customers. Now with the acquisition of VMware by Broadcom, I am bailing ship. Such a nightmare to even find documentation on the products they still have not sold off, License fees are now astronomical. I still maintain a Citrix NFR lab, but that will come to an end soon, they too are making it impossible for techs to get trial for NFR software for upcoming products,
I know VMware will be the big dog for the next few years in the enterprise., but the day is coming when Proxmox starts to make inroads to their market share. I will be ready.
I have already taken over 2 of the ESXI hosts in the lab to stand up a Proxmox lab.
Just installed 2 node Proxmox VE in a lab environment, to get the hang of Linux.
I now have 3 nodes installed in the Proxmox datacenter after bringing in my min-PC that I was going to uses for a desktop.
With the VMware lab, I have 2 Synology 8 disk SSD NAS devices. I still have a lot of free space on the NASs that I will dedicate to Proxmox.
I know we are frustrated with Microsoft's take it or leave it stance.
I frankly am tires or it, and am actively making the change to Linux
Same issue, right after the year in review.
Also yesterday I had that stupid grey screen in New Tab instead of my background, because of that snow flake thing over in the lower right corner of a new start page.
That seems to have been fixed since yesterday, but these transparent icons in the favorites bar are hideous.
exactly my case... Chrome is much better as a search engine (more convenient with results)... the only reason I switched was they removed yellow color some time ago without ability to restore / personalise... which is weird in 21st century. We have AI, but we cannot "personalize" stupid color on favorites bar...
Same issue here - folder Icons have gone black with white line outline - used to be yellow (which I want back)!
