Same here. I have suggested elsewhere this is NOT a good look if MS EDGE is trying to grab more of the market, which currently is pathetic. It's stuff like this that is not helping and it's a damn good browser. Appearance matters!. The numbers of replies on this topic should shout to whoever a heads up. I hate this so much I have resisted moving to EDGE. Recently moved again to it and found it still the same. It looks cheap and unfinished and it's the first thing you see on the menu bar! It's boring, difficult to see and just blah!
Come on FIX IT!!!
Does anyone on MS office bother anymore?
There was a recent Windows update and then the problem occurred.
As another user has already mentioned, it's not related to a Windows update. I'm on Mac.
It's a change in the latest Edge update. Sure there was one of those unfortunate brainstorming sessions of some wannabe UX designers. "Look, both Chrome and Opera have these ugly folder icons, why should we be better than them??"
Btw, in Firefox, Brave, and Vivaldi the default folder icons can be changed to custom ones (it requires some trickery, but it can be done). If the Edge team doesn't restore the yellow icons (or provide an option to do so), then maybe it's time to abandon Edge for other browsers.
12-20-2024 -- same issue just appeared -- I want the beige yellow folder icons back please
I don't want to learn to live with transparent icons where my yellow folders used to be.
same problem for me too from today
