Web Select Option Gone After Recent Edge Update

MS Edge Version: 114.0.1823.37

For some reason, I no longer have the Web Select option in the right-click context menu. I still have Web Capture, but Web Select is no longer there. Did MS remove this feature, or is it a bug?

There is a missing step in these instructions - you must ensure all instances of MS edge are closed before you run the modified shortcut.

You can do this with Task Manager (don't actually need a reboot).

You can also check Startup Apps (search in your Start menu) and disable all Edge auto-start instances, then restart. Check Task Manager first to confirm no MS Edge instances are running, then run the modified shortcut.

As stated, though, this is a workaround to re-enable a deprecated feature. Long term expect this switch to be removed also, or just become very buggy. If you care about it, vote on the feedback portal link:

I'm running Version 120.0.2210.7 (Official build) stable app, beta channel (64-bit)

After doing all the steps mentioned in this thread, do this ⬇️

End Task the Microsoft Edge process in Task Manager 😂

Unfortunately, you need to do this every boot. Can't confirm yet.

Click Properties -> Change Target as "FilePath" --enable-features=msEdgeAreaSelect and click Apply, then OK.

    E.g., "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --enable-features=msEdgeAreaSelect

    "C:\Users\Resolver\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge Beta\Application\msedge.exe" --enable-features=msEdgeAreaSelect

    and

Then open edge-> type edge://flags/#edge-screenshot in URL bar, then change the Microsoft Edge Split Screen and Microsoft Edge Screenshot from Default/Disabled to Enabled as mentioned in below screenshot.

but it doesn't work in my Edge

What version of Edge are you running? I'm curious as to why it worked for you and is not working for me or others like Iain. For reference, I'm running Edge Version 119.0.2151.58 (Official build) (64-bit), and I've tried this fix on two different machines (I'm not sure what the other machine version is as I'm not at home at the moment).
