How to make links open in a new tab in Edge Chromium

I think that the original poster meant "how do I get every link I click on, including, e.g., from an email message or another application, to open a new tab in Ege, as opposed to creating a new Edge window?".  The Ctrl-leftclick workaround doesn't work in these situations.

I have the same question, right now Edge keeps opening new windows, which I personally find annoying -- indeed it is the main reason I am still using Firefox, which lets me do what I have described.

You change the setting under Control Panel -> (View by small or large icon in upper left under search box) -> Internet Options -> 1st Tab - General Tab -> look down to Tab button -> Click it -> Here is where you will find the option how to open 3rd party links

Hi FELIX. You are RIGHT. Not a good example at all. It is simple:

Do a search on Edge, click (NOT RIGHT CLICK) on any result of the search and the result of the search IS GONE.

NO, NO NO. I want to see it in a new tab and be able to pick another result.

No, I don't want to Right-Click, I always forget.

That issue made me come back to Google Chrome. - It seems to be that there is NO solution.

Let me see if I can give you an example of what all these people are talking about that you seem to be missing.

The link below is to the Microsoft home page.  What we want to happen is what happens in most other browsers.  When you click on the link, it should open a new tab and also go to the Microsoft home page.

First search something...

Then click the three lines...

Click settings...

Find the "more" option...

Click open links from search results in new tab or window...

the business I'm in, I have to use Edge (in lieu of Internet Explorer as the vendors I associate with have their programs preferring Internet Explorer over Firefox or Chrome.  Some of the vendors started doing more Google Chrome updates, so i do go back and forth to Chrome and Edge, but none have programs that are compatible with Firefox.  They need secure programs, and I need them to work, so I go where their program works best,  However, I have retrained myself - I don't have time to wonder if Edge can fix something as time saving as a default setting of opening a clicked link into a new tab automatically.  I suppose if they ever figure that out, they'll send out some kind of update with a notice that lets us know they fixed this feature finally.  You all have a good week.
