New Edge: "Your browser is managed by your organization"

I just (06-08-2020) installed the latest Windows release and updated to the new Edge as well. When I went to change settings in the Edge browser, I noticed that my browser is all of a sudden managed by "your organization". Well, my organization is me!

Can anyone explain why I see the message "Your browser is managed by your organization" when trying to adjust settings? I did not give any permission for anyone to "manage my organization." I had this problem with Google Chrome and wound up deleting the browser altogether.

I was able to remove this by opening my Webroot SecureAnywhere Advanced Settings. Like others have said, this is something that blocks websites Webroot has identified as malicious but the steps below should remove the things in Edge you're seeing.

  1. Open the Webroot security program.
  2. Click the Advanced Settings Cog at the top right.
  3. Click Firewall / Web Shield at the left hand side.
  4. Uncheck "Activate Browser Extensions"
  5. Save
  6. Close and reopen Edge and the Extension is gone and so are those policies/management messages.

    'would that make you feel better' is an understatement.  Such a help-link is essential.

    Why would I need to search the Internet to find such intricacies?

    I am not an expert, but a user, and have recently solved this issue using a very simple click & delete function from regedit.

    The task I preformed was to run regedit, 

    search for Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge in the address bar.

    and delete all the Sub-keys from the list, until and unless you want to keep some of the features.

    I hope it helps. Again just a remainder I am not an expert in the field so, correct me if I am wrong and do let me know if it fixed your issue.

    One thing that seems suspicious on my machine is that I do not have a  Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Microsoft/Edge

    entry! Yet, I still have policies:

    Could this be caused by some group setting(s)?

    I get the "Microsoft Edge is managed by your organization" the same as everyone else. I am on Windows 10 Pro on a home desktop. I started having trouble a short time ago after a Windows update. I had been using Application Guard successfully for months beforehand.
