Preparing for Insider Preview Builds of Windows 11 - ***UPDATED 6/28***

So I have a 10-year old laptop that doesn't support secure boot, so I won't be able to run Windows 11. So will I be able to purchase Windows 10 still or will it just be a brick once Windows 11 comes out?

Will there be an update to the minimum system requirements on this? Seems a little outrageous that my 1st gen Ryzen 5 1500X is just not on the list for CPU compatibility...

Does anyone know how to get PC Health Check to do the check if you're running a home server?  Because my PC is tied to a server, all PC Health Check tells me if my PC is managed by my organization (which is me) and doesn't do anything.  Looking at the minimum specs, the only thing I think that might be an issue is the TPM requirement, which I need to look into for my motherboard (it's about a year and a half old).

I get the same message on the Insider page under Settings/Update.

As far as I know, Microsoft has promised to update the tool for that message in the next few weeks. Try using this alternate.

A common statement today seems to be " PC Health Check failed my machine"  and there are a lot of them with descriptions of capabilities that clearly match up with the required ones.  Hopefully Microsoft is following all the entries (a lot !) and will review their materials for accuracy and perhaps explain what makes all these systems fail the test.  

It is true that a large number of the computers represented have  1. Enough compute cores.  2. Enough memory .   3 . Large enough storage. and in quite a few the users have established that they have TPM.   

It's not quite that simple and it would be helpful if Microsoft can explain where they drew the line and why.  

We also know that there are people who installed Windows 11 before launch successfully.  Not much info on what devices that they used - new or not.   

The way it appears in the writeup. It is possible that the early builds that were based on Win10 might present us with 'some ' Win 11 features and allow it to be installed in current equipment.  However, at time of release it looks like those builds prior to release that are on non-qualified equipment will not be allowed to continue without upgrade or replacement.  This is just a guess judging by the way the writeup was made.

Recommendations :  Keep learning more about your system specifications and have them handy.  Learn about TPM and review your manufacturer website for Bios updates and drivers.   PC builders with empty TPM sockets on their motherboards are already ordering the modules online to make that happen.   Microsoft has been busy working on that PC Health Check app and we need to check for any updates that will help better identify compatibility.  There have been some great links and tips showing up on Community and there will be more to share in the days ahead.   Please do submit a Feedback to Feedback Hub if you have any issues with the function of  PC Health check and any suggestions to make it better or more understandable.  You can make Windows much better this way.

Take your time to prepare.  What you learn at this point will make it easier for the next steps because you will know the right questions to ask.

It must be said that my CPU is I5-7300HQ, which is just not within the soft requirements of CPU as stated in the official technical documents. However, TPM2.0 has indeed been turned on, and it can be seen in my system. I have also turned on other required contents normally, but it still fails to pass the official test. Is this proof that the authorities are blocking all Core chips below the 8th generation from being upgraded?So why didn't the authorities make it clear in the public requirement? Why are upgrade requirements divided into soft and hard? Is this discriminating and forcing us to replace our old computers? Hope the official gives reasonable and effective reply.
