For users who are receiving the following message in your Windows Insider Settings:

Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your device may continue to receive Insider Preview builds until Windows 11 is generally available, at which time it is recommended to clean install to Windows 10.

We've made an update to Settings to resolve some issues. Please reboot your device to ensure you have the latest update.

    Unfortunally Yes. Microsoft has expressed it directly on its page. While it is a correct cautionary measure, it is extremely irritating that we come across this. In other words, I can test an "insider" version on my PC, but then I will have to go back to Windows 10. I would not understand the sense of testing an Operating System on a machine, indicating its faults and then I am punished by "forcing" me to go back to it. older version, because I can't use it anymore. It is unusual. You can not believe that something works and then I am forced not to use it, but it is clarified that it is free as an update ... I honestly do not think they are thinking correctly what they are saying.

    I completely agree with you.

    I do not even understand why 5th, 6th and 7th generation Intel processors are not supported as the only improvements 8th gen has is speed and increase in the amount of RAM that can be connected. But this amount is way above Windows 11's RAM requirements.

    It is unfortunate to receive the news that my laptop that I bought 2 years ago does not have a processor that is compatible with Windows 11.

    More distressing is to be told that a computer with an Atom processor will work with windows 11.

    I refuse to be treated as an idiot.

    There is absolutely no need to buy anything new. Best option is to keep using windows 10 till EOL . Till then hopefully something more important than os will become the need to upgrade system. It is pretty clear to most of the people the reason behind launching windows 11 was to force people into buying new machines just for new looks. Under the hood it is still windows 10.

    Also no point in joining the insider program if the company does not give you enough respect for your cooperation in making their os better.

    Hmmm.  That may explain a lot.  If their AI is looking for very specific hardware items a LOT of existing PCs are going to get the "you're being discriminated against" message despite technically meeting the criteria.  Those lists are for hardware developers so one would hope they are not using it to screen existing hardware installations.  But if they are, then it really looks like we have an "Apple" moment on our hands.  You know, the typical "well really you could run our newest OS but because we want you to buy new stuff you can't install this" thing Apple does to cull the herd on each new release.  Bad Microsoft!
