Fingerprint Sensor Not Working After Windows 11 Update

I have an Asus Vivobook 14 X413JA.

Yesterday, I downloaded the windows 11 insider preview build from the dev channel, but I was disappointed to find that windows hello couldn't recognize my fingerprint when I tried to log in.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers of my fingerprint sensor but still, it doesn't work.

I have an Acer Aspire A515-55

Window 11 PRO Version 10.0.22000 Build 22000

I have the same problem with the fingerprint reader

I downloaded the driver for this laptop from Acer and installed it for a fresh install. This did nothing.

Then I followed your instructions and my credential manager was set to "manual". I changed it to "automatic" through a local account then went back to my MS account. I removed my old fingerprint from "Windows Hello" then put a new one in. When I closed the laptop and reopened it the fingerprint reader worked. When I rebooted it would not. It seems it isn't being saved for some reason.

    Installed the latest update, the issue is still present for me.

    OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Pro

    Let me join the long list of people. The laptop is an Asus ZenBook Pro UX550GD. The fingerprint reader is not picked up by the device manager under Windows 11, although the newest official driver is installed (I also contacted Asus support, they told me the installation is fine, Windows is to blame). Works fine with Windows 10. Heard no word back from the Microsoft Feedback Hub.

    Microsoft doesn't let me downgrade and refund my 300 USD license, with no explanation whatsoever.
