I have an Asus Vivobook 14 X413JA.

Yesterday, I downloaded the windows 11 insider preview build from the dev channel, but I was disappointed to find that windows hello couldn't recognize my fingerprint when I tried to log in.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers of my fingerprint sensor but still, it doesn't work.

I have an Acer Aspire A515-55

Window 11 PRO Version 10.0.22000 Build 22000

I have the same problem with the fingerprint reader

I downloaded the driver for this laptop from Acer and installed it for a fresh install. This did nothing.

Then I followed your instructions and my credential manager was set to "manual". I changed it to "automatic" through a local account then went back to my MS account. I removed my old fingerprint from "Windows Hello" then put a new one in. When I closed the laptop and reopened it the fingerprint reader worked. When I rebooted it would not. It seems it isn't being saved for some reason.

We're investigating the issue. In the mean time, please feel free to add your issue to Feedback Hub. Appreciate your patience.

-Eddie

    SOLVED on my Asus A412F.

After I installed windows 11 preview, my fingerprint didn't work at all as it worked smoothly and fast on my previous Windows 10. My driver ELAN fingerprint is updated and works normally in the device manager. But still can not use my fingerprint credential option. Only PIN or Password.

First, I try to change my microsoft account to a local account.

    1. Go to settings > account > Your info.
    2. Select Sign in with a local account instead.
    3. Type the user name, password, and password hint for your new account. ...
    4. Select Next, then select Sign out and finish.

Second, this happens because The Credential Management service is disabled (not automatic).

    1. Press Win+R and type services.msc
    2. Find the service named "Credential Manager"
    3. Double click it
    4. Check if the initialization parameter is set to "Automatic"
    5. If it's not, that was the culprit, enable it.
    6. On Log On tab, Log On As: Local System Account. Check Allow service to interact with desktop.
    7. Click OK.
    8. Then restart.

    UPDATE :

Looks like this is somehow is the temporal solution. After some time shutdown and/restart didn't work anymore. Trying several possibles, still won't come out.

Now just hold my coffee cup and sit.

    Hello!

I have an Asus Vivobook X510 Laptop which uses Elan WBF Fingerprint Sensor. Although the Fingerprint sign-in using Windows Hello worked with Windows 10 pretty well, it acts weird after upgrading to Windows 11.

I can setup my Windows Hello on Windows 11 and it keeps working fine until I reboot the Laptop. By this I mean if I sign out or shut down (most of the times) I will see the Sign in with Fingerprint option. But once the laptop is rebooted due to some reason the Sign in with fingerprint option is disappeared.

I've tried almost every solution found over the internet but nothing seemed to resolve the issue. So I suspect it maybe due to some driver compatibility issue.

    Thank You,
    Hameez.

Exactly same issue I'm facing with Asus Vivobook 15 with ELAN WBF fingerprint driver.
