Surface Pro 3 Type Cover Not Working, In BIOS/UEFI or Windows 10 after 1803 Update

My Surface Pro 4 Keyboard with Touch is no longer being recognized by my Surface Pro 3 after updating to 1803.

I have disconnected and reconnected dozens of times.  

I have cleaned my connectors on both the Surface Pro and the Keyboard unit.

I have uninstalled the keyboard in Device Manager, as well as the mouse however the only things showing up there are HID compliant Mouse and Keyboard, nothing that says Surface or Type Cover.

I have hard reset the device several times (Volume Up and Power), also booting into UEFI/BIOS several times where the keyboard also does not work.

I registered my device with Microsoft to of course be told it is Out of Warranty.

I am in the process of downloading the Recovery Image from 2015 from a trustable 3rd party website since I cannot find any links to the recovery image on Microsoft's website.  This will I think put me back in time to before the 1803 update as far as Windows is concerned, however I am not sure if that will fix my problem since it is not being recognized in the BIOS.

Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

    I HAVE A WORKING SOLUTION ! 

    After one morning when I woke up and there was no power going to my typecover, not working even in BIOS. I did all the things that were suggested in the forums. I put the typecover in the fridge, uninstall and install drivers, update and firmware and nothing worked (as it was stated in the forums, but I had to try).

    I remember that when I lost all the functionality and power to my typecover the Surfave Pro 4 battery was drained to zero. In some forums people suggested that the problem might be caused by the battery. 

    Those are the following steps I made to fix my typecover problem :

    1 - Unplugged the typecover and uninstall its drivers from "Device Manager"

    2 - Install Battery Eater (http://batteryeater.com/) and run it until the battery dies.

    3 - Leave the SP4 for 24 hours without any power. 

    4 - Put back the typecover and the charger to the drained SP4.

    5 - Press the Power VOILÀ 

    This proves that patience and fasting solves any problem. Have a great reunion with you loved typecovers !

    That would be great for me, if Microsoft can allow me to send back the SP3 after a new Surface machine is delivered, so I can have a chance to do Windows Easy Transfer PCmover Express to transfer all my files and settings to the new machine.

    Still, my SP3 works very well except for the type cover. I use the SP3 in a dock 95% of the time. It's just that I have a type cover for the other 5% of the time and now it doesn't work.  

    I wonder what MS would do if I sent my SP3 and type cover into them for "repair".

    That would be interesting, but not entirely satisfactory to me.

    I have a dock for the SP3 that I'm pretty sure wouldn't work with SP6. So I'd have to replace that too.

    I really like the SP3. Until this happened it's been the best computer I've ever owned. If it had been somehow destroyed I wouldn't have had any hesitation to buy another Surface Pro,

    Understandably,  we are all frustrated with the lack of attention that Microsoft has given this issue. As far as your docking station concern, it should be compatible with all surface pro systems from 3 to 6.
