For some reason my new Surface is shutting off randomly. I check the setting and a few other things but it's still randomly turns off without warning. I'm losing some of my school work because of it. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hey Everyone,

As of 7/14, the fix for this issue has completed testing and is now live, please go update your Surface Pro via Windows Update to get the latest download. You can obtain this fix by checking Settings> Update & security > Windows Update

The Surface Pro Update History page has been updated with the details of this release and the update is also available on the Surface Pro Drivers and Firmware page as part of the MSI installation package available for download.

    same

    I7/8gb/256

    BSODs, Green screen shutdowns

frequent problems in accessing sdxc card

    occasional rotation lock problems

an odd one: transparency effects don't work (background for tiles on start menu is opaque when it should not be, and was not on my SP3)

most problems seem to occur when attached to a second monitor

I got an i7/8GB/256 SP for bout 2 weeks. Firmware is 1709. My Surface shut down 2 times suddenly. How often are you all affected by the issue? I cant recreate a situation. All open windows are still open when I need to restart, and in these two cases no data were lost... cant figure out, what to do. should i try to get a new from the seller? monye back? or contact ms?
