Type Cover not Working but ...

My type cover does not work and I left my surface aside the battery drained. I put it in the socket and the type cover worked. What will it be?

    How did you get the Version 2004?  My computer says it is still pending and they will let me know.

    Hi Shadow chaser,

    I'm hoping you can share any further steps you took to getting your cover to work.  Your previous post re firmware rollback ended saying it was unsuccessful so was there anything further to that process?

    PS: I have found that my GUIDs in FirmwareResources only has one folder, not 4(seemingly the one for UEFI).  And to top it off MS downloads site has crashed so we can't currently access any msi files to emulate your roll back - ahhh patience required....

    Of course, now I'm typing this reply using my type cover after a reset back to the latest firmware... my suspicion is that it's still flaky and may need a reattach after a reboot, but everything seems fine at the moment. Nonzero chance that the Embedded Controller firmware reset did something.

    I won't buy a detachable again. I did buy two surface laptop 3. 

    Like tgem, but track pad mouse is glitchy...

    Surface studio 2 is nice if you upgrade mouse to better surface mouse.

    ... It just needs a wired keyboard and easier to access usb ports and sd card port
