Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc. 

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable. 

If anyone come across, this, please help.

    I use Avast antivirus.

    did you try uninstalling Avast? Windows Defender will protect you.

    I had the same keyboard issue with a surface pro 4 were nothing I tried would make the keyboard or mouse work. I went to the link in this message and downloaded the file related to the 1903 upgrade. Ran the file and rebooted. The keyboard and mouse are now fully functional. ...

    I tried this and the install started - but at 25% it paused and a message appeared, telling me to uninstall AVG antivirus because it isn't compatible with Windows 10...

    But I don't have AVG on my Surface, so can't uninstall it!  I searched for it in the Apps, but it wasn't there.

    I use Avast antivirus.

    Anybody else get this?

    Signed and sent!  Given their reluctance to fix the problem after all this time, I wont hold my breath though. Thank you for sending the link.

    My computer tech put me onto a small bluetooth  keyboard, which also connects magnetically and links perfectly well with the Surface. It's not perfect as it is a bit bulkier and doesnt work as a cover like the typecover but its better than nothing. It's made by Alcatroz, a Trilium BTR1. It costs $50 Aust.

    You are lucky.  I've upgraded to the 1903 version and still nothing.
