Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

Load the update, do what you said several times, still dies not work. Uninstall and install again, did what you said about power and volume +, many times, but still won't work.

Looks like no one can repeat what you did to make it works. Did you do something else or change something other that the updates

I'm sorry I swear that's all I did was update with this newest one 2017-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4032188)& then did the +volume & power thing until I saw this white screen (UEFI), exit out of that to restart then my type cover suddenly lit up! When I first applied the update nothing happened. Something about restarting with the +volume & power buttons helped. I was surprised it worked! This update I'm sure fixed it because I can see the surface type cover in devices menu under keyboard! I'm sorry, CD, you're having no luck with it!

If Microsoft says it's keyboard is a lie.I have 2 and none works.Last night I tried several times to make it work and nothing.I called today and it was incredible, it worked again.I'm going to put a print here!

So it's nothing keyboard, but HARDWARE, DRIVER, something. All normal seemingly, not if I turn it off it will stop working. But it is not keyboard is something else and it is very strange to happen to several people.

Today - my wife thinks it ran an update and it's been an issue since then.

I have tried rolling back the version of windows but that didn't sort it out

    When did this start?

we don't know that you've tried "all" the fixes unless you tell us what you've

tried. have you tried your type cover on a friend or co-workers Surface and vice

versa? what version of Windows are you running and how did you roll back? did

you try a reimage from a downloadable recovery image

    https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/warranty-service-and-recovery/downloadablerecoveryimage

    ?

if you tried a different type cover AND a recovery image, then you likely need

    an exchange.

Got a Pro 4 and the type cover isn't working.  I've tried cleaning the connections, updating the drivers and rolling back the version of Windows but it still doesn't work.

I've searched online and tried all the 'fixes' but none work so I'm stuff.  It's out of warranty too.

On device manager, under keyboards I can see a 'hidden' a keyboard called "Surface Cover Filter Device" and the status shows as it not being connected.  From this I can only assume the keyboard isn't being recognised (even though it is attached).

The question is whether the fault lies with the keyboard or is it a software issue?
