Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc. 

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable. 

If anyone come across, this, please help.

    That sucks. I had hoped to try the update today.

    The fact that it worked briefly is interesting data - it suggests that problem might not be hardware in the Surface, and is software (as most of us have always believed anyway).

    Yes, I also believe it's the software and the solution lies with Microsoft as there's absolutely nothing the users can do about it.  And that's not for want of trying either!

    Just as well I didn't hold my breath - turned on the Surface just now and type cover once again not working!

    Maybe I shouldn't have shut down, just kept it going...

    Is this the 'build number'?  Ver 1803 (OS Build 17134.706)

    Later today I might try all the other solutions again...  :(
