Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc. 

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable. 

If anyone come across, this, please help.

    @Koolpep, what generation type-cover did you use to trigger the fix?

    I'm from Holland (the Netherlands), same problem with my SP3. Tried all things suggested in this forum and more, Consulted our most experienced Windows engineers here. Nothing worked, no one understands. Hope I can find a owner of an older generation Surface to try the last suggestion of Koolpep. Pray for me ...

    All,

    I had the same issue and nothing helped. Here is what worked for me!

    I am now again typing on my type cover. 

    I connected the type cover of my older generation Surface that I had still lying around and voila the drivers came up and the cover worked - then I connected the current type cover to it and that worked too, IT's like something needs to trigger the port and in my case the older cover did. 

    Maybe worth trying out with an old one in case you can get hold of one (or borrow it). It took only a few seconds and all was back to normal again. Woohooo.

    Whilst still annoyed with Microsoft, I can recommend the Logitech K380 bluetooth keyboard.  It is slightly shorter than the Surface so packs well, and as a bonus easily connects and switches between 2 additional devices (ie phone).
