Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc. 

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable. 

If anyone come across, this, please help.

    ...and it stopped working again. 

    I visited the MS store in Sydney and they ran several diagnostics which simply confirmed that the typecover port wasn't working.  The typecover itself is fine.  They couldn't help further as the device is out of warranty.

    The typecover has worked intermittently a couple of times since then, but not recently.  I now also carry a bluetooth kb with me.

    It also runs flat overnight despite configuring the power settings configured for decent battery life.

    The device has been well cared for and is in otherwise excellent condition.

    Perhaps they have actually properly investigated a failing unit and are unable to fix the defect.

    Microsoft silence makes it difficult to recommend a surface device to anyone else.

    This is a huge disaster on your part microsoft. I regret doing business with you. Shocked we still do not have a fix!

    Since experiencing the exact same problem as others with my Surface type cover stopping working, I continued experimenting with many of the suggestions.

    I also had a go at rolling back firmware (in drivers), and also running the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit.

    Somewhere in all these activities, it started working again, so there is hope!

    Sorry I cannot be more specific about what triggered the fix because I was using a USB keyboard at the time and didn't notice the Type Cover had started working again.

    If anyone wants to compare driver versions etc just let me know what detail you are after.

    HAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH that doesnt even count as any resort at all. I'd rather eat my own arm. Goodbye 2400 euro laptop because it cant recognize its keyboard. But hey lets try the troubleshooter who knows maybe after 20 years t might help someone....
