Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

    hi,

i have similar issue with type cover....My type cover perfectly working with other sp4 but not with mine.. after i uninstall the drivers manually, it detect and reinstall every time.. note that the fingerprint ID is working perfect even though the keys and touchpad not working.....very strange..i did all troubleshooting, installed fresh windows 10 and it's same...I've tried other type covers with my surface pro 4 and it is the same issue.

Additionally to say some times the type cover come back and work perfectly after a couple of days keeping the system shutdown in my bag, but goes off if i restart or shutdown or went to sleep...this has been continuing since a month...

the only remaining thing is to take it to a Microsoft store..but i don't have one in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.. please let me know what to do..

Thank you for the update. You may download and install the Surface Pro 4 driversfrom the official website.  If installing the driver doesn't resolve the problem, we would recommend that you bring the device to a physical Microsoft Store, so that a person from there can run a check on it and see what's causing the issue and can proceed with the resolution in real time.

Microsoft value your feedback and suggestions. This kind of insights will greatly help us in improving customer experience and that is why we would like to inform you about the Feedback Hub. This app is installed in all Windows 10 devices and serves as a medium of communication between our customers and Microsoft, to create a better user experience.

    Thank you.

Is there anyway to manually push the driver installed.  I tried to uninstall the drivers from "Human Interfaces Devices" and "Keyboard" in the anticipation it will be reinstalled when I switch it back now.  No luck on that.

Type cover still not working and now the drivers are missing, even from "Show Hidden".

Kind of disappointing that you had only two accessories for the Surface and could screw one up with a firmware update.

    Hello,

For you to proceed further in resolving this issue about your Type Cover that's now working, we recommend that you check out Mark Ole's reply on this thread.

    Thank you.
