Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

I have the same problem. I cleaned the contacts and did a refresh which did not solve the problem. I took the type cover to Best Buy and connected it to a demo Surface Pro 4 and it worked.

What a shame that MS still can not fix the issues. We noob user even found a real workaround

All of a sudden, after I bought a Bluetooth keyboard, my typecover worked again today and I am writing this using it.

I believe I left the SP4 to sleep last night and today when I press the power button again, the keyboard backlit lighted up and worked. I did a few restart and shut down, it still works. As of now it has been 3 hours since it started working again lol

Don't know what will happen tomorrow lol
