Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc. 

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable. 

If anyone come across, this, please help.

    Same here, even after I did a reset full image of surface its still gone

    Yes I did, I was instructed by MS support to do so, went to a shop. They took one Type Cover from the shelf and tried it without any change: it did not light up and the driver did not show up after connecting to internet.

    MS Support current position (which I did not accept) is that I should buy a new Surface or a refurbished one at 50% price.

    I am located in France where I bought my Surface 3 years ago.

    The rest of my story is the same as for the others on this thread: it stopped working after a W10 update, in my case in december 2017.

    Did anyone try using a new model type cover?  If that solved the problem that means MS broke the old drivers with the new drivers ....

    I tried the uninstall on the hidden drivers in device manager, and supposedly windows will download and install the drivers again.  GUESS WHAT - it didn't happen so I don't even have the driver under hidden anymore.

    My surface pro cover stopped working after last update. i have driver error mentioned under "surface type cover" in device manager window.

    the cover is working on other surface pro's that were not updated.
