Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

    Figured it out.

Went into the BIOS, power and volume up button. Turned off the type cover port. Rebooted and again rebooted into Bios, enabled the type cover port.

    All OK.

This after I had the same issue and nothing I tried worked so I thought the typecover was broken and bought a new one.

    Same issue!

    Updated the drivers to SurfacePro4_Win10_15063_1704201_0.msi

    Same issue!

I did the same many times. Didnt work at all

Tried fresh install as well. My type cover plugging into other SP4 works but none work with mine. I tried all the way and now end up carrying a bluetooth mouse and keyboard all the time.

    Nicely done MSFT

most unlikely. and most people that try to replace the screen end up totally

    bricking the device.

Well I dropped my surface on the floor. The screen broke a corner, so I'll replace the screen. Does the screen change the battery and the keyboard to work again?

In your opinion, do you think it's a software issue then?

If so, I shall wait out for a while first before moving over to the apple side.

Anyway, appreciate the advises you had been giving out here. Really thankful. =)
