Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

I asked about this yesterday and could not get any additional information.

It is worth noting that in the event viewer I had a problem with Bluetooth which I think is part of the problem.  The message I'm getting is 'the local Bluetooth adapter has filled in an undetermined manner and will not be used.  The driver has been unloaded'.

Quite why it is taking Microsoft so long to sort the problem is beyond me.  There are so many of us with the same issue surely they can find out what the problem is with.  Resetting might be a short-term fix but ultimately there is an issue with the driver or the firmware and so it will probably come back on everyone's device at some point.

Is anybody installed any software immediately prior to this happening?  Mine was fine yesterday for ages.

Just before the issue happened I do have some messages in the event viewer including the following:

The trusted platform module (TPM) firmware on this PC has a known security problem.  Please contact your PC manufacturer to find out if an update is available.

Because my PC is a fresh install, I'm getting lots and lots of things happening at the same time which is potentially clouding the issue and preventing me from pinpointing exactly what happened at the time when the problem came back.

Like I say, so far this morning it has been fine.

I agree Neil.... I have been having this issue for the last few days.  I have actually also reset the device device which as everybody knows is complete pain in the backside and something that we should not need to do for something such as this.

However, this does not always sort out the issue although having done this more than once this week (for a different reason), it can sort the problem out.  Yesterday evening I had the PC almost back up and running as it was previously and the keyboard stopped again.  I'm also having the issue where the autorotation stops working and the PC turns to portrait.  This is obviously easily changed in the settings where I can force it back to landscape.

Turning on the PC this morning and it is all working again.  It is definitely a firmware or driver issue and not hardware.  Microsoft support want me to send the unit back to Germany but I am reluctant to do this as there is nothing wrong with this PC or keyboard I have taken great care of and I do not really want to return it with a refurbished product.  Also, when the same driver gets installed, the situation will of course return.

    Very very frustrating.

if you did a complete wipe and reinstall from a recovery image and have this

issue, all you can do is exchange your Surface.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13948/global-customer-service-phone-numbers

can help. There really are no settings or fixes if you've done a reimage. And it

is unknown if Microsoft will eventually acknowledge the issue and develop a fix.

    >> Do you still have any advise what setting i can try..? beside buy a Bluetooth keyboard..
