Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

I have the same problem discussed above with type cover not working after the last update.  I took it in to the Microsoft store this morning and they said it is a known issue but that Microsoft does not yet have a fix for it.  They offered to give me a new device and make and copy the image from my current one.  I decided to wait until Update Tuesday to see if Microsoft puts out a fix.  If not, I might just get the new device.  My only hesitation is the hassle with setting everything up on the new one and having some strangers messing around with my data out of my sight.

Any news from MS on this? I am having the same problem reported in this thread and have done the troubleshooting recommended. Also auto rotation stopped working. Both keyboard and rotation suddenly came back to life yesterday, but stopped working again after a reboot.

    Running SP4, OS version 1703 15063.608, firmware 17_032_01 64 bit.
