Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

**The thread is moved to the cover category.**

If AU = Australia, there is a Microsoft Store in Sydney, and if you are close (I

know it's a large country) it would be worth going there with your hardware.

With two separate type covers acting this way, unless there are environmental

issues (extra heat/cold/humidity, etc.) I'd think software (which doing a

complete wipe and reinstall from a downloadable recovery image should help

    diagnose).

the T button getting stuck ? doing what?

I'm Australian but live in the Philipplines, was just chatting to the AU support.

If I was at home I would go to the store immediately!

When I was typing I used 't' and it went 'ttttttttttttttttt' or more.

    >>Will look at the VPN options but according to MS chat support I shouldn't have an issue using the AU link provided.

Yeah I really don't want to stop using this device it's great when it works, it just doesn't consistently enough to be able to do my job effectively. I would definitely disclose issues if it comes to selling it.

Intermittent errors are the hardest to diagnose.

Some people who live in unsupported areas have had luck using a VPN to download

the recovery image from the US. Or you might have a friend with a better

    connection.

If you've cleaned the contacts, using a recovery image is really the only step

left considering you have 2 typecover's with the same issue.

If you sell the device, please disclose the issues you are having..

I am going on month's of having issues on my SP4 and two Type Cover 4s.

Attach/reattach does not work consistently. There have been times when I can't get it recognised for days.

Power/Volume Up and moving Type Cover port on/off in UEFI does not usually work.

When it or reattachment does work, it will almost always stop after 10-15 minutes of using it. Either the 'Switch to Tablet Mode?' pop-up will appear and/or 'USB device is not working properly' message will come up. Seems to mostly happen when using the trackpad but there have been instances when typing only.

When this happens, I still have backlight but the device has an error in device manager which can't be fixed with disable/enable/update or uninstall/reinstall driver.

I also notice that when it stops, the Surface Keyboard driver is gone and only shows HID keyboard.

I have tried refreshing the device. Can not do a full restore to factory because I can't get the recovery image to fully download without error...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do not live in an Official MS supported country.  I am very close to selling my device (which was a gift that I want to love) and get a Mac :(

    Thanks in advance.
