Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

When you are in thr UEFI, tried toggle the typecover selector off and then on and then move your finger on the slide pad of the type cover to see if the cursor appear. It works for a few of us and at least for mine, permanently solve the problem.

they want you to try the following:

    "

    1. Check Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard and ensure that Filter Keys is Disabled
    2. Check BIOS and make sure Type Cover is enabled in Devices
    3. In Device Manager, click on the view menu > Show Hidden
    4. Under HID (Human Interface Devices), scroll down and find Surface Pro 4 Typecover Integration > Right-Click - Uninstall (I chose the tick to delete driver/software)
    5. In Device Manager, under Keyboard, if you do not see the type cover, no need to do anything else, if you do see it, right-click, uninstall (check to remove software)
    6. Shut down (Hold shift for a clean shut down)
    7. Hold Power and Volume UP for 30 seconds - the device will flash to EFI and back until it eventually powers off fully.
    8. Power on the device - now the keyboard should work, and all the drivers should be re-installed that we removed earlier.

    "

Tried this and it does not reload the drivers.

I've sent this in to an internal contact to see what might cause this (and how

to fix). It is likely a firmware issue of some kind (which cannot be rolled

back) since you did a reimage already and still have the issue (which would mean

the only fix is an exchange).

I'll post again if I get a response from my contact.

and you are NOT running an Insider's Build, correct?

and all firmware is installed and there is nothing pending?
