Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc. 

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable. 

If anyone come across, this, please help.

    have seen a few times behavior similar to what Daniel reports; the typecover is responding for a while but it is not stable - if you reboot it dies again.

    It seems that I have successful resolved this, following these steps (if I remember correctly):

    • first reset again the machine,
    • then go to "Bluetooth and other devices", if the typecover is installed you can see "Surface Typecover" on you right hand-side. Most probably you will not able to see it, if this is so go to the next bullet.
    • try "Add Bluetooth or other device",

    I don't remember the exact steps after that, but for the last 3 days the Typecover is working fine. Just in case turn off automatic updates.

    My experience trying to resolve this is that it is a driver (not firmware) problem

    Please start a new thread about your battery issue (and as I understand it, you

    have a SP 3 and not a 4 and you need to post in the Surface Pro 3 topic (as there have been known issues with the batteries in the SP3).

    Good the battery of my surface was zaro, drained, I left one day without turning on and when I turned on the keyboard it turned on. Something wrong with the battery.

    Thanks Barb for your suggestion..just to let everyone know I am using a SP4 and have tried the method twice. But it doesn't work.

    Trying to figure out why suddenly I have to update 2 old drivers. I have a feeling because the system may not have detected the type cover earlier due to the problem. This is my guess.

    Anyhow, I am now happily using my typecover.
