Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

you need to understand that an issue with a SP3 is likely to be different than

    what happened to these SP4's.

Wah, this solution seems to work. In the past, I waited for the next day to see if it works but it seems it is working still. I also notice that there is a old driver for surface pro that when I did a window update, it pops up to ask me to update. Something strange here, and I am not sure if Microsoft is pushing out the old drivers

    Microsoft - System - 12/9/2016 12:00:00 AM - 2.0.302.0

    Successfully installed on 8/29/2017

    Surface - Keyboard - 3/23/2017 12:00:00 AM - 1.1.504.0

    Successfully installed on 8/29/2017

Anyhow, my type cover is working now!!!!

    Dear Barb,

Thanks for all your efforts and the advice to exchange it again.

Probably I will try this option. I was not convinced why the third machine is going to be successful, but since your internal contact in Microsoft believes that we are only 15 people in the world (and therefore I am a really unlucky person), maybe it is worth to give it a shot.

Also, I've tried the on/off solution from the UEFI menu, no luck on me.

The most robust solution I've read so far was to buy a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

    Best

Well I live in Brazil and unfortunately what I can do is sell my Surface saying that the keyboard does not work anymore.

I have two Type Cover (Black and Blue) and a Surface Pro 3. As I posted here Microsoft released a Firmware that did not solve my problem. My problem began on 22 July.

One thing I find strange is the BIOS other than SP3. It has nothing related to Type Cover, to enable and disable.

Another thing I find very strange is that I was able to 2x connect the type cover. The first time I called it was when I was resetting Windows to 1% and the keyboard turned on but when I hung up it did not work. The other time it was Sunday morning the battery was drained, and when I plugged it in and the surface a type cover switched on.

Unfortunately I have a complete surface with pen, mouse and 2 keyboards but unusable.

I just made a date erase.

I have no luck with Microsoft products, first it was my Lumia 930 with Microphone problem, but it was under warranty and came back working. Now it's my surface pro 3.

Does it disassemble the Surface and take out the connection board from the keyboard and put back what they think?
