Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

Agreed, very timely announcement by consumer reports. Just FYI, I have the same problem, and my solution was to get a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I have been using them for about a week and I am very happy with the results. I even turned the touchscreen off and use the pen on occasion. My surface is basically a modular laptop at this point. Spent $70 on Amazon. A lot cheaper than a new computer.

I looked at this myself but the keyboard layout only comes as US and not UK.

I can tell you now you are wasting your time and money.  It's a software issue.  I just wish Microsoft were big enough to admit they screwed up and say they are working on a fix.

I am insider, I installed the last update of the insider for this, and nothing solved.

My last solution today, I'll be going to buy isopropyl alcohol.
