Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

Well, what does Microsoft want in return?

A company simply would not launch an update to ruin your device. Unfortunately I'm in Brazil, place that does not have support for line surface.

Someone here could go to some Microsoft store and show at least this topic, of the causes that many users are having the same problem, meaningfully showing that this is software and not hardware.

Has Microsoft released any updates to spoil or lock the keyboard door? Impossible even because the users who are under warranty could change.

Well unfortunately I have to wait, but if I lived in some country with Microsoft support, I would talk about the case and present this topic.

Guys, there are people from China with the same problem!

This is no use if you are based in the UK - you have no stores here and when calling the UK help number I end up speaking to someone in another country.  Why can't Microsoft offer a UK based team for me to talk to?

I have installed drivers, reinstalled Windows and tried just about everything I can find on Google.  The device does not recognise the keyboard is attached and the drivers do not install automatically.  All since the last Windows Update in July.

The keyboard has been swapped for one that is known to be working - it does not work on my device.  My keyboard does work when connected to another device - so it is not hardware related.

As many others are suffering from the same issue I can only assume the problem is software related.  Pretty poor show from Microsoft in not acknowledging the issue - all they can offer is a swap for a refurbished item in exchange for £333.  The replacement would only come with 90 day warranty.

This has really put me off Microsoft products - feels like I am being robbed.

you should share this feedback with them (as should others with this issue)

    https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/about-us/contact-us/index.htm

I don't know what else to do to assist you. Microsoft won't answer any of my

    emails on this specific subject.

Thanks for your help with this problem. I'm at wits end, and need to get a new computer. its too bad that Microsoft shows little support with this issue. It validates consumer reports removal of their recommendation for the surface Pro.
