Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc.

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable.

If anyone come across, this, please help.

    When did this start?

we don't know that you've tried "all" the fixes unless you tell us what you've

tried. have you tried your type cover on a friend or co-workers Surface and vice

versa? what version of Windows are you running and how did you roll back? did

you try a reimage from a downloadable recovery image

    https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/warranty-service-and-recovery/downloadablerecoveryimage

    ?

if you tried a different type cover AND a recovery image, then you likely need

    an exchange.

    >>I've searched online and tried all the 'fixes' but none work

I'm from Brazil and I'm suspicious to say that the problem is not just me. I have 2 Thpe Cover covers and none of them are working. Impossible. I tried many alternatives and none works. From trying to reinstall Windows one hour worked, but the next day was no longer working. In other words, this is not a problem on the keyboard. When I try to connect by pressing the button it goes into Bios, different from Microsoft's method. Not only I but users with the same methods enter the bios. Very strange.

    Jeepers!

OK, well I guess it's not just us.  Thanks for all your help.  We'll just have to wait I guess.

Is there a way of reporting the error directly to Microsoft so they are aware of it?

I'm thinking you are a victim of the same thing being discussed in this thread -

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/x/y/1c188925-c234-4369-8c93-af74417534d1

Microsoft claims they don't have any cases internally (they have lots of folks

using SP4's) but are looking into it.

I don't have a good solution for you. If you want a quick fix, you'd probably

need to exchange your SP4. And if you are out of warranty, that will cost you

    $$.

    >>Today - my wife thinks it ran an update and it's been an issue since then.

Some of the stores MAY do this, but ask that you leave your Surface there for XX

amount of time depending on how busy they are. You can call the Store you intend

    to visit in advance

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/locations/all-locations and make an

appointment and specifically ask to speak to a manager and see if they will

    transfer your files.

Some people have had luck using System Image Backup to create an image of their

Surface and restore it to a replacement Surface. You can talk to them about this

    as well.
