Surface Pro 4 Jul 2017 Update - Type Cover not working

I updated the latest update Jul 2017 and it bricks my type cover completely. Tried everthing, from reset, volume + and power, everthing including cleaning etc. 

I just do not understand. When I did Apr 2017 update, it also half bricked it, but at least using volume+ and power helps, but now totally unusable. 

If anyone come across, this, please help.

    This issue can be caused by both the software/firmware and the hardware. You can refer to this article on how to troubleshoot your Surface Type Cover.

    However, if you have already tried all possible resolution and still the keyboard doesn't work, we suggest that you visit a nearby Microsoft Store and have your Surface device and Type Cover assessed. If you're outside the US, get in touch with Microsoft Customer Support in your region. Please refer to the Global Customer Service phone numbers.

    Looks like so many people have the same problem. Microsoft, please help. Yes, I also cannot see the device under device manager after the update. I have wipe out my entire computer and do an install again. Not working. Pure waste of time.

    Microsoft, will appreciate an update back to last year device firmware or software or fix it with an update

    I now have THREE useless Surface Pro 4's all exhibiting the issues above. Wifi DEAD, keyboard cover DEAD.

    Full device wipe and reinstall (you know, like I have all the time) and still no type cover or wifi.

    How did this get past WHQL!?!?

    If this was some cheapo no-name tablet then fair enough.

    No, this is the MICROSOFT tablet - the one that costs a fortune.

    • did the firmware upgrade, no change, the problem is still there

    before that:

    • Microsoft replaced the Type Cover , the problem persists with the new Type Cover 
    • I have already reset, clean install, etc - also tried the image provided by a Microsoft link
    • the remedies proposed in support web page did not help (e.g. delete the driver, two button shutdown)
    • the signs indicate that this is software, not hardware (the Type Cover is identified in the Settings-Bluetooth and other devices menu)

    the problem is a constant headache, I need this to be resolved asap, please help
