Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I am now in the process of installing it and will post my experience as soon as I notice something.
Repeated Daily Crashes of Desktop Window Manager in Reliability Monitor When Using Pen
Is anyone also having problems? I am all updated to 2009, all drivers updated. SFC reports no issues. Occasionally, when there's a crash my screen goes black for a few seconds.

2021-04-30T09:30:44+00:00 It is almost a month that I have exactly the same problem. having read all 8 pages of posts I am a little disappointed by Microsoft. On April 28 a preview update (KB5001391) is released which has the following among the list of addressed issues :
- Addresses an issue that causes DWM.exe to stop working in some cases.
those who installed, please update us with the outcome.

2021-04-26T14:27:31+00:00 Updating my previous post only to let you know that searching for the exception brings (also) to this StackOverflow question. Seems a buffer-related error, maybe (in our case) the buffer used to process the touch/pen movements on the panel.

2021-04-24T05:11:32+00:00 I have been having this issue for a while where the screen turns black momentarily while using the pen in PowerPoint and Whiteboard. Sometimes PowerPoint/Whiteboard will crash. The problem seems MUCH worse lately to the point of being unusable while teaching. Always when this happens OBS will stop capturing updates from the app so new notes are not drawn. I have to close Whiteboard and start it again for OBS to resume capturing the app.
Same error in event viewer that others are seeing dwm.exe / heatcore.dll. The only thing I have to contribute is it seems to be exacerbated when streaming so when the display is being captured like when using Zoom / OBS. Maybe people using a duplicate display are also capturing the display in a way.
Also this might be correlation not causation but the crashes seem worse when the tablet gets really hot (Surface Pro 7).
And yes the fancy pens will also cause the crash but it seems to work a lot longer before it happens.

2021-04-24T00:57:10+00:00 Hello again
I stopped using the pen a week ago and no crashes with touching the surface with my finger. My reliability monitor has shown no errors in the last week.
Could it be due to a calibration issue with the pen or the pen being incompatible with the touch screen?
I am happy to have a crash free computer, won't use the pen anymore. It really screwed up my computer!
Cheers
