My problem has resolved itself and I am not sure how, I think it was not updating the driver because the pro was not on charge along with the keyboard being attached , which I am sure I read somewhere sometimes causes updates not to install

    Hello NevilleBriggs,

Thanks for giving us this information. Could you also open the listing in Device Manager, open the Driver tab and tell us the number for the Driver Version?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best Wishes,

solved, at least for me. after 3 restores, and repeated attempts of reinstalling the drive it seems to work. after reading another thread on this issue, the firmware wont take unless the battery is at 100% (99% and charging is not good enough). im keeping my fingers crossed, but no more yellow triangle. if it suddenly comes back, I might try to see how far I can Frisbee it.

OK, I tried it with a 100% charge and the yellow triangle is finally gone! That's totally nuts! Let's see if it holds over time.

    Thanks,

    Bye.

Hi, what did you do exactly when you say I tried with a 100% charge? Did you reset your Surface or uninstall and reinstall the firmware update?

    Thanks,

    Ccote

I've had my Surface Pro 3 a few weeks. There have been some updates that included some new firmware. Originally, my Pro 3 had a few oddities that prompted me to perform a full reset, and those oddities went away. Those firmware updates were installed again. My Pro 3 was now performing well. Then I noticed the yellow triangle in the Device Manager for the Touch Controller firmware. I tried various fixes enumerated here to no avail.

What got rid of the yellow triangle from the firmware in Device Manager was to be sure the battery was charged to 100%, and leaving the charger connected, I uninstalled the offending yellow triangle firmware (deleting the driver). I then click the button to scan for new hardware and let it automatically install the now missing firmware from Microsoft Update. The yellow triangle was gone. I rebooted, and it was still gone. At no time was there any functional problem with my Pro 3, yellow triangle or not.

    Bye.
