Has anyone tried using an aftermarket surface pro keyboard? Amazon has a couple like Moko and Fintie. Although I will not excuse Microsoft for this, trying out a different keyboard for troubleshooting purposes might be well received by this forum.
Surface Pro 2017 touchpad mouse freezing
I've got a new Surface Pro 2017 and today the mouse pointer being driven by the touchpad has started freezing for 1-2 seconds.
All the latest updates are installed.
I've removed the mouse from device manager and then ran Scan for new Hardware.
I've removed and re-installed the lastest Surface firmware package.
But it still does it, however it only seems to happen when the device is on power. It works fine on battery.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Greg

2020-02-17T23:43:26+00:00 Interesting, I on the other hand if you read my latest post: I said that I no longer have this issue. But it is also to note that I no longer (signed out) use the cloud services as I did before. Are you using Gdrive or Odrive?

2020-02-13T21:26:38+00:00 For everyone; I too have been vexed by cursor freeze, on battery, plugged in, does not matter and seemingly completely random. Today it was so intrusive I once again came to this forum and others to see if anyone had found a solution. No luck.
But something someone said had me check my trackpad settings. I changed the Tap setting to the lowest sensitivity and for several hours now of intermittent use it has been fine.
I have seen numerous posts where someone has successfully fixed it only to have the issue return so I will try to remember to report back here if it happens to me.
In the meantime try it: I am no engineer so my guess is that the overly sensitive setting interpreted my attempts to do a 2 finger scroll or 1 finger cursor moving as a Tap and so it took a break to try to figure out what I was trying to do. Just an amateur guess.
