Just a heads up for all experiencing this issue. Please try switching your ac adapter to an alternate AC outlet. In my case, it solved the issue for now. Could be a dying AC adapter or surge protector. " I have spoken"
Surface Pro 2017 touchpad mouse freezing
I've got a new Surface Pro 2017 and today the mouse pointer being driven by the touchpad has started freezing for 1-2 seconds.
All the latest updates are installed.
I've removed the mouse from device manager and then ran Scan for new Hardware.
I've removed and re-installed the lastest Surface firmware package.
But it still does it, however it only seems to happen when the device is on power. It works fine on battery.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Greg

2020-01-29T17:57:53+00:00 Hi,
I have the 256Gb version but the problem still persists.
It is definitely.. without doubt.. an issue only apparent when the charger is attached. As soon as I frustratedly flick the charger cable off the problem disappears.
Very disappointing that Microsoft firstly don't acknowledge the problem, and secondly pointedly refuse to fix it.
If we weren't all reliant on our I.T. it would be worth everybody with this issue sending their surface pro's back to microsoft and starting a class action and then see what they'd do.
Regards
Roger

2020-01-29T07:29:31+00:00 Roger,
Did you see my post?
The proximity of my surface pen was interfering with the touch-pad.
So, when I disabled the pen by taking the battery out, everything worked for me as normal, with no latency problems.
Maybe give that a try.
Since I don't use the pen all the time, it seemed like an easy fix for me.
Good luck,
Steve

I will try anything. Thanks.
