How is your battery life on the Surface Pro 7?

I upgraded to the Surface Pro 7 - 8gb, 256GB from the SP4 8gb, 256GB. My SP4 hardly got an hour of battery and would shut off on battery without warning, so I constantly had it plugged into the wall wherever I went.  I was hoping for much better on the SP7. Currently I am struggling to get a full 5 hours...closer to 4 hours.

Yes, I know I use Chrome and Edge, a number of Office windows open, might watch some YouTube and Netflix.

4 to 5 hours seems pathetically small.

Any other comments, suggestions or comparisons? (I know there's a need to 'bed in' a new battery in, I've had the laptop almost 2 weeks now, the battery should be 'bedding' in by now.

thanks in advance

There are several places like CPR and others in LA that will replace a battery for under $125. That includes shipping back

I might take legal action! They are so wrong!

Dear BBrannick, please return your laptop while you're still under warranty. I bought mine 1.5 years ago. The battery started acting out in January, 6 months after warranty was over. Now they want me to pay 800$ to replace it! Are they nuts?

I use the laptop the way it should be, meaning just to work on documents, go online, watch some videos. It's not like I'm swimming with it or doing gymnastic. Like you said, what's the point to have this light machine if it has to be plugged 24/7?! I see many people has this problem. Also, I am having a hard time to turn it on now. Second problem.

JUST DON'T BUY IT! I never made this kind of post before, but I have to warn people. I am now fighting to get a new laptop. I might have to still use my big Lenovo from 7 years ago. But at least, the battery still works for hours without being charged!

My replacement was just as bad. 4.5 hours on an i5 with minimum use. I'll hang on to see if it's a software bug and if not demand my money back from Microsoft, and after many years, abandon Surfaces.

Similar here. I had a max of 6.5 hours (leaving it on but not doing anything) and an average of 4.5-5 hours (minimal use). I reutnred it (which Microsoft were good about) and got my replacement yesterday - I got 4 hours. My 3 year of XPS 15 7700QH with Geforce 1050 and 15.6 inch screen lasts 50% longer!

Frankly I wish someone would take legal action against Microsoft for false advertising!
