Surface Pro 3 Slow WiFi - 72Mbps Max (driver)

Don't know where to post this update so will do it here (where there is some history) and maybe in the new "new firmware updates" stickied thread.

After today's (November 19) update, wifi performance remains dreadful and it is even slower than after the late October firmware update.  Transferring a folder with two files contaning rougly 1GB from desktop to Surface takes 42 minutes 53 seconds.  (It was 37 minutes 16 seconds with the late October firmware.)  A cheap Patriot dongle takes 1 minute 20 seconds.  The Surface is now 26 times slower than the Patriot dongle.

I give up.

Well, I install the latest firmware that was release yesterday or today 11/19/2014. At work the sp3 still connecting at low speed. The 5ghz wireless access point is is about 30 feet from my desk and the connection fluctuates between 130 mbps to 26 mbps i guess is still selecting the 2.4 ghz band when 5ghz and 2.4 ghz is on the same ssid.

Also, the sp3 lose wireless connection when it goes to sleep. If i have open a windows explorer with a map network drive open.....if i close the lid and open the lid the opened window explorer and all the directories are gone...if i click in the window it says that it has been disconnected but the icon below the clock says its connected.....i have to press the refresh button for the directories to appear again....annoying as hell...and is not my surface only....also other surface pro 3's at work have the same issue.

In summary the new driver for me are the same. What have change I dont know.

I moved your other reply to the pinned notice of update to a new thread. Can you please reply there with the above info AND with info on what tweaks you might have made prior to this. Also, are you using the retail SP3 image or a corporate image.

I'd like to try to keep your issues separated.

out of curiosity, did you ever try with a router OTHER than that WRT1900AC?

I did try a Dlink AC router and it was not able to maintain a connection reliably as well.
