Surface Pro 3 Slow WiFi - 72Mbps Max (driver)

I have an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11ac wireless router at home and am only connecting at a max of speed of 72Mbps (usually closer to 11Mbps if I'm more than 20 feet away from the WAP). I have two other 802.11ac laptops at home (Samsung AB9+ and rMBP) and my two other computers are connecting up at 800Mbps+ and pulling down the same on Internet speed tests; yes, I have real GigE connectivity. Is anyone else having these problems?

    have serious problems with wifi connectivity. I've installed all the updates, including the latest on July 16 that was supposed to fix this problem. The problem extremely annoying because you can not have stable connectivity. the signal is lost when you open multiple applications. even with one apllicacion the connection is very slow. Constantly I have to turn off and turn on the wi fi. It is a shame that microsoft has not done the necessary tests before launching this excellent product to market. 

    I hope microsoft respond quickly and fix this problem. It is said that the connection depends on many factors. However, several products are connected to the same network as computers, ipad and android phones have no connectivity problems, only the surface pro 3 has serious problems.

    FWIW, I don't have any cordless phones. 

    My base stations are set to choose channels automatically so I assume they pick the best available. 

    As others have experienced, it is only my SP3 that suffers poor link speed to the router.  No problems with other devices. 

    I so far have not experienced the problem with dropping or "limited" connections. The link stays up but just stays between 11-72 Mbps when my other AC devices are at 700+

    Well, I think it is about having more time with the device and the new updates.  Since 7/16 I had to reboot a lot more times than the week before the last update.

    I had a 5 GHz phone but I bought a new Dect 6.0 phone system Saturday.  It does not seem to make any difference on the behavior with the SP3.  Of course I don't have the base anywhere near the router.  I have heard that some people do have an issue with WiFi and some models of Dect 6.0 phones.  For this particular problem it did not seem to make any difference for me before or after.

    The updates overall made the SP3 finally usable, don't get me wrong.  At least it only drops WiFi every so often now.  But I still hope for Microsoft to fix the problem permanently given that this machine is being compared to the top of the line machines out there, that is all.

    I don't have anyone around me using 5G band other than my wireless phones at home. So I think that that's part of the problem. I wonder the phones at what or close to what channel they are transmitting.

    that explains things. 5.8GHz phone and 5GHz wifi - least interference using lower channels. I use DECT 1.9 GHz phones here.

    It would be interesting to see if others with issues also have 5.8Ghz cordless phones.

    Yes, that would be very interesting analysis.

    the higher end channels for 802.11n in the US, 149-165, correspond with

    5.745Ghz-5.825Ghz.

    5.8Ghz cordless phones use 5.725-5.850Ghz. So yes.

    there is overlapping  there.

    Well, I'm replacing my phones at home. That was overdue and we will know next week if that was of least  if that was part or the whole problem.
