Surface Pro 1 on Windows 8.1 reboots when Type Cover 2 is removed

I just noticed this recently but sometimes I get a Random reboot not even doing anything particular. I also noticed twice that when I attached my Type Cover 2 it reboots.  Example I attached it and the SURFACE logo shows and it boots up.

Anyone else experiencing this.?

Surface | Surface Pro | USB-C

I purchased a Surface Pro and Type 2 Cover at Best Buy in December 2013. After upgrading to Windows 8.1 problems daily with restarting while browsing the internet. I use the Surface as a laptop and never disconnect it from the keyboard. I also run it from a/c power most of the time.

I did not realize other people were having this problem and took it in on Feb. 26 to have the "Jerk Squad " take a look at it. No help there.

Shortly after I found this Forum and realized I am not alone.

Since that time it has only restarted once until today! Since the March Firmware update yesterday it shut down and restarted again this morning. I am ready to toss this thing out the window!

Just had another one.  Came to see if M$ aupport ever decided to start caring and doing their job - alas no dice.

We have to find a way to start making M$ responsible for these problems.  Bug them on chat support every  time or something so at least we can raise their support costs and make them do SOMETHING or at least have some kind of impact.  Rather than just ignoring us like all their other customers.

As a developer - I have stopped releasing for their platforms until they get this fixed.   Knowing M$ isn't the type to care, I have placed a request to have my developer fees refunded :)
