Surface Pro 1 on Windows 8.1 reboots when Type Cover 2 is removed

I just noticed this recently but sometimes I get a Random reboot not even doing anything particular. I also noticed twice that when I attached my Type Cover 2 it reboots.  Example I attached it and the SURFACE logo shows and it boots up.

Anyone else experiencing this.?

I installed it and had no problem since. But I will keep an eye on this issue.

Do you have a docking station?

I installed the firmware yesterday and have had this issue twice since then.

Can anyone else confirm that this is still happening post firmware update?

Been having the same issue - I'll sleep my Surface, and when I open it up again later, I find it's restarting and not waking up from sleep. This happens at least 2-3 times a day.

I have the type cover, and all this started around the time I've upgraded to 8.1.

Is Microsoft doing anything about this?

Hadn't happened to me for a while, but did again last night.  Browsing, modern UI version of IE like everyone else.  Not overheated, not doing anything taxing to my knowledge, just dragging a finger to scroll a page.  Only use my Surf Pro in the evenings, so probably why I don't get it as frequently.

I have done some pretty intensive stuff with Lightroom, Microsoft ICE, focus stacking software, etc. that does result in some heating - and this random reboot never occurs while doing anything like that.  Only browsing.

I just did the firmware update with no issues.  Hopefully this will fix the reboot issue everyone has been experiencing. One thing I did notice right away was that the firmware update added microsoft skydrive onto my computer with a small icon in the notification area. Dunno if I will like this or not, just a warning if any of you hate skydrive for some reason.
