Surface Pro 1 on Windows 8.1 reboots when Type Cover 2 is removed

I just noticed this recently but sometimes I get a Random reboot not even doing anything particular. I also noticed twice that when I attached my Type Cover 2 it reboots.  Example I attached it and the SURFACE logo shows and it boots up.

Anyone else experiencing this.?

I highly doubt it. The best way is to get in touch with the Customer service and keep telling them you restored and did every patch. Even do an exchange if you must. I got my exchange today but will be working on it in 2 hours or so. If it still exists I believe the exchange has 90 days. Then I will say it is still doing it.  I think if a lot of us keep reporting it to them and exchanging isn't solving this problem then maybe, they will admit something.  Is anyone with a Surface Pro 2 experiencing this?  I mean we should get some kind of fix if it once was working before unless its a faulty hardware piece that slowly goes out Overtime.

    What do you all think?

According to the guy at the Microsoft store, it is a "chipset" issue. And they think it's hardware related. So chances are a fix may not become available. I still have no problems on my Pro 2.

Were any updates installed that might have caused this?

After a month or two with no restarts I've just had a couple one after the other...

    Now what?

Has Microsoft admitted there is an issue?

Keep us updated when you get it back. Would be interesting to know if they managed to fix it. So far no issues with the Pro 2 with my original touch cover.
