Surface Pro 1 on Windows 8.1 reboots when Type Cover 2 is removed

I just noticed this recently but sometimes I get a Random reboot not even doing anything particular. I also noticed twice that when I attached my Type Cover 2 it reboots.  Example I attached it and the SURFACE logo shows and it boots up.

Anyone else experiencing this.?

    Well, it is not the end of January and yes, still having this issue. Sometimes the keyboard doesn't work, and it reboots all the time. I couldn't even finish an email with four sentences. Every time it rebooted I sometimes got part of the sentence I'd typed but not consistently. I couldn't use it during my meeting at all. just pulled out the pad of paper!

    So less than a month after having my original surface pro replaced, I went back to the local Microsoft store after having a chat with support online. Online support wanted to replace it again so I opted to go to the store again to see if I could get some insight.

    Turns out that this is a known problem with no fix ATM. They allowed me to swap out my pro for a pro 2 if I paid the difference. Kinda got screwed on that because the replacement they gave me was worth $599 but I originally paid $899 so I paid $300 for an upgrade to the Pro 2.

    I've tried to replicate the issue on the 2 and it seems to not be a problem. The tech there did say it had something to do with the chipset and the upgrade to 8.1. I've tweeted the surface account again with my outcome, hopefully something will be done to fix the problem.
