Well I think I'm done with Microsoft. I will hand this surface down the family line once I'm ready for my next upgrade and get the latest tablet from another company. This is the response I received yesterday:
Hello (my name),
I took a look at the multiple email threads you've sent us, and I'm unable to pinpoint one reason as to why your device isn't working correctly. With all the firmware issues and the sizzling sound it's now making I would set up a repair to get the device exchanged. If you're still experiencing any issues please reply to this email and I'll keep this ticket opened. You can create a repair at myservice.surface.com
If you have any questions or concerns please reply to this email.
Thank you
Matt

Well guess what I am unable to do a ticket from the support site. I emailed him back telling him this. Mind you my warranty expires next month. I guess I'm stuck with this device. By the time they reach me again the time will be up. I tried to be patient but this is ridiculous.
I will be monitoring the Lenovo Yoga line and Dell Venue's. It is really sad.
Microsoft Support apparently Failed me and all the confidence I had in them. If the device worked properly it would be awesome but you have to take care of those who spent over a $1000 for your items and accessories which those are $100+ as well.
I don't get why you won't send it back to be replaced?
I have already attempted before and they sent it back unchanged.
Now when I attempt to open a ticket I can't open the warranty for it.
it Says this:
Request Service

Information:

!

No services found

No service offers are available.
--- Talk to them on the Chat facility and get them to sort it for you so you can get a replacement...
That didn't work either. Some of their support personal are not very well trained. Apparently when I first tried to send in my device for them to test out the issue, due to the scuffs on 2 of my corners they sent it back without even seeing that it turns on and evaluating it appropriately. They marked it as a CRACKED SCREEN, which clearly it isn't and I have provided pictures to the Forum Moderator and my CASE person obviously had seen himself. My screen works just fine, and there are no cracks. Poor support is what sadly had made this my LAST HARDWARE purchase from Microsoft. Later this year I will check other companies and go with them. So sad after all the money I spent on accessories and all. SHAME ON YOUR SUPPORT. Windows 8 already has its own issues with the public (not I per se), I believed in this device and the OS.
