Surface Pro 1 on Windows 8.1 reboots when Type Cover 2 is removed

I just noticed this recently but sometimes I get a Random reboot not even doing anything particular. I also noticed twice that when I attached my Type Cover 2 it reboots.  Example I attached it and the SURFACE logo shows and it boots up.

Anyone else experiencing this.?

Surface | Surface Pro | USB-C

I have all those same issues but with a Type 1 cover.  NEVER had any reboot issues before the Windows 8.1 update time-frame (might have been a firmware update for all I know, or some other Windows Update... I just know it started happening right around the same time).

    Yeah, same here.

Surface Pro 1, Type Cover 2, Win 8.1.

I had no problems for a few weeks when I used 8.1 with Touch Cover.

Then I got Type Cover 2, and reboots started. It is always related to the Cover.

Surface can be on, and reboot when I disconnect the Cover.

Or it can be in sleep, and I will disconnect or connect the Cover. When I get Surface back from sleep, it will start from scratch, not resume from sleep.

Also, sometimes Cover becomes unresponsive, and I have to reconnect it.

It could be a weird problem try bumping it softly at the back that's probably what triggers te random reboot not software  because  it happened to me but somehow the problem fixed itself an it doesn't present anymore. My surface has had some weird behaviour history but they all fix themselves and never come back

Mine went in a dumb reboot-every-5-mins.

Unplugging the power cable and disconnecting the low quality keyboard they sell for a ridiculous price appears to have resolved the issue for now.

Could be a hardware issue, might explain why they won't help us.

Add to all this, I apparently have been waiting for customer service to get back in touch with me.  I gotten a phone call after 2 weeks from a Forum Moderator telling me I would be reached by someone from customer support. I emailed all the information to the person appointed to me and he even apologized for me waiting so long and that he would send all my information to the tech people there.

Well it has been a week and a half and I have not gotten any email back.  Here we go again with their customer support.  I want a Surface Pro 3 (if it comes out) but if with service like this I'm not sure what I will do.  I mean when it was working well it was amazing!  Happy when it was working. But with all these issues and no responses. It is kind of ....sad.
