surface book battery drain while shut down

Split from this thread.

I have been noticing that when I shutdown my surface book, when I power it on the next day the battery has drained some. If I leave it off for a couple of days it will drain down from 100% to around 85% or lower.

I disabled fast startup... and then just decided to disable hibernation altogether. That didn't help.

I have windows hello disabled, but that shouldn't matter anyway since I'm shutting it down, not sleeping.

Some searching and I found a general windows 10 issue with the "Intel Management Engine Interface" driver. Some say that v11 can cause this issue. One solution that I have seen suggested is to go into device manager and in the power management tab for this device uncheck the option that allows windows to power it down to save power. I tried that and it didn't help.

Others have suggested downgrading the driver from v11 to v9 or v10, but I don't know where to get v9 or v10 of this driver that is compatible with the surface book. Anyone know if one of the downloads on Intel's site would be compatible?

So, has anyone else noticed this issue and know of a fix?

I still have same problems when I put my surface book in sleep mode it start to get hot with battery drains. Also when I put it in sleep mode I  put my ear in the surface book , so I can listen to the sound>> finally I can hear the sound of the fun. I will wait until I get the new version of windows 10 then  I will decide to keep my Surface book or sell it .

After applying all of the system updates the battery drainage issue has been mostly resolved.  My SB can sit turned off for weeks with very little drain.  So try to get all the patches and updates applied.  Good luck.

I'm getting exactly the same thing.

SB 1: Arrived with no charge in battery and returned because of dead pixels.

SB 2: Arrived with no charge in battery and noticed the battery is draining when it is shut down...

    Really not happy.

    Yes

If I leave my surface book for a few days it will not start - battery completely flat. Even when put away after 100% charge.

Not  impressed,  spent a lot of money..

What does it take to get Microsoft to open a bug?  I see a lot of people with this same problem since the last Surface software update, but is there a response?

Does anyone know if Microsoft has an equivalent to Launchpad?  I kind of thought this forum was it, but not much appears to be happening.  They might be working on it behind the scenes, but it would be nice to have some confirmation if that's the case.
